Install on your phone
Agentbot is a Progressive Web App (PWA) — it installs to your phone's home screen and runs full-screen like a native app. Push notifications wake you the moment a visitor messages, even when the app is closed.
ℹOne-time setup
After installing, open the app once and allow notifications when asked. That's the bit that actually wires up push delivery — installing the icon alone isn't enough.
iPhone & iPad (Safari)
- 1Open SafariOn your iPhone or iPad, open Safari (not Chrome — only Safari can install PWAs on iOS). Visit your Agentbot dashboard URL.
- 2Tap ShareTap the Share button (square with an arrow pointing up) at the bottom of the screen.
- 3Add to Home ScreenScroll the share sheet and tap Add to Home Screen. Confirm the name and tap Add.
- 4Open the app from your home screenFind the Agentbot icon on your home screen and tap it. It opens full-screen.
- 5Allow notificationsWhen prompted, tap Allow. You'll start getting push notifications for new messages and assigned conversations.

Android (Chrome)
- 1Open ChromeOn your Android phone, open Chrome and visit your Agentbot dashboard URL.
- 2Tap the install promptA banner appears at the bottom saying “Install Agentbot”. Tap it. (If you missed it, tap the ⋮ menu top-right → Install app or Add to Home screen.)
- 3Open from your home screenThe app icon lands on your home screen. Tap it — it opens like a native app with no browser bars.
- 4Allow notificationsWhen prompted, tap Allow. Notifications are now active.

Desktop (Chrome, Edge, Brave)
On desktop the install flow is similar: visit your dashboard, look for the install icon (⊕) on the right side of the address bar, click it, confirm. The app gets a dock/taskbar icon and runs in its own window.
How notifications work
Once installed and permission granted:
- You get a push notification when a new conversation starts on a site you have access to.
- You also get one when a conversation is assigned to you (transferred from another agent or auto-assigned).
- Tapping the notification opens the conversation directly in the app.
- You can turn notifications off per device in Settings → Notifications.
See Notifications for the per-device settings page, where you can pause notifications, remove an old phone, or re-enable them.
Troubleshooting
iPhone: no install option in the share sheet
- Make sure you're in Safari, not Chrome or another browser.
- iOS 16.4 or later is required for push notifications. Update your phone.
Notifications stopped working
- Check that the app is actually installed (open it from the home screen, not the browser).
- In iOS Settings → Notifications → Agentbot, confirm Allow Notifications is on.
- On Android, check Settings → Apps → Agentbot → Notifications.
- In Agentbot, go to Settings → Notifications and re-enable the device, or remove + re-add it.
I'm logged in but the app shows the login page
Pull down to refresh, or close the app and reopen. The PWA caches the login state — sometimes a stale cached page is shown right after install.
