We got tired of live chat
that doesn't actually chat.
Why Agentbot exists, what it stands for, and what kind of team we're building it for.
The problem with live chat in 2026
Every live-chat tool eventually grew an AI bot bolted onto the side — a separate product, a separate config, often a separate price tier. The chat still pings a human first; the AI is the upsell. That made sense in 2018. It does not make sense now. For a small team, the AI should be the first responder, every time, and a human should only be the escape hatch.
What "AI-first" actually means
The product is built around the AI agent, not around a human-led inbox with AI features pinned on top. The AI reads the page the visitor is on, retrieves from your knowledge base, files a ticket when the question needs follow-up, and only escalates to a human when it genuinely cannot help. Most chats are resolved before anyone on your team reads them.
Who we built it for
SaaS founders, indie developers, small support teams (1–20 people). The people who can't afford Intercom and don't want Tawk's branding stamped on their site. The people who would rather drop a script tag than schedule a setup call. Agencies who manage chat for multiple client sites from one dashboard fit too.
How we’re different
Three commitments that drive most product decisions. One: AI is the default, not an add-on — no AI tier, no per-resolution charges. Two: no per-seat tax — your team can grow without your bill growing in lockstep. Three: nothing is locked in — your data exports any time, the widget is one script tag you can remove. We compete on the product working better, not on switching costs.
Where we are right now
Agentbot is in open beta. Everything is free. We're building in public — features ship as soon as they're real, not when a marketing window opens. Things will move fast and occasionally something will break; when it does, you'll find us in our own chat widget at /contact.
