The HubSpot Chat alternative
that answers chats by itself.

Live chat without buying into a CRM.

HubSpot Chat vs Agentbot at a glance

  • HubSpot's live chat is genuinely free — but it's part of HubSpot's CRM ecosystem. Installing it pulls you into HubSpot's contact / deal / marketing structure whether you wanted that or not.
  • Agentbot is just the chat product. One <script> tag, no CRM bundle, your data goes wherever your existing webhooks point.
  • If you already live in HubSpot, their built-in chat is the path of least resistance. If you don't want a CRM, Agentbot is the chat surface without the rest.

Pricing: HubSpot Chat's real cost vs Agentbot beta

HubSpot's chat is free, but the 'free' assumes you're using HubSpot CRM as your primary contact store. Add marketing automation, scale your contacts beyond the free CRM tier, or want Breeze AI capabilities, and the bill compounds: Marketing Hub starts around $20/month and Service Hub Pro is $90/seat/month. Agentbot is $0 during beta as a standalone product — no CRM contract, no Marketing Hub upsell path.

Where Agentbot wins

  • Standalone product. HubSpot's chat is a feature of HubSpot CRM — every conversation creates a HubSpot contact whether you wanted CRM tracking or not. Agentbot is just chat.
  • AI is the first responder by default. HubSpot's AI features (Breeze) are real but live in higher tiers and assume you're already on the CRM stack.
  • Self-serve, no ecosystem commitment. Drop the script and you have a chat widget. No CRM onboarding, no contact-list import.

Where HubSpot Chat still wins

  • If you already use HubSpot CRM, their chat integrates seamlessly with everything else (deals, marketing emails, sales automation). For HubSpot-native shops, their built-in chat is the obviously correct choice — Agentbot would be an outside system you'd have to bridge.
  • HubSpot's app marketplace has 1,000+ integrations templated and one-click installable. Agentbot uses webhooks (any HTTP endpoint), but we don't ship a marketplace; you wire integrations yourself.

Switching from HubSpot Chat

  1. Step 1

Export your HubSpot chat history (if you need it)

HubSpot conversations stay in HubSpot — you don't lose history by adding Agentbot alongside, and you can keep using HubSpot's CRM separately. If you want the chat archive out, HubSpot's data export covers it.

  2. Step 2

    Install Agentbot

One <script> tag from /dashboard/embed in your site head. Configure the AI persona and brand color. Live in 60 seconds.

  3. Step 3

    Disable HubSpot chat

HubSpot dashboard → Conversations → Inbox settings → disable the live chat channel, or remove the HubSpot tracking script if you also want to stop CRM contact tracking. You can run both side-by-side during a transition window if you want.

FAQ

Is HubSpot's chat really free?

Yes — but it's free as a feature of HubSpot CRM. Every visitor who chats becomes a HubSpot contact. If you don't want a CRM at all (or you already use a different CRM), the HubSpot bundle is friction you didn't sign up for. Agentbot is chat alone.

Can I use Agentbot without a CRM?

Yes. Agentbot stores conversations and tickets in our own database; we don't push contacts into a CRM unless you wire that up via webhooks. If you already use a CRM (HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce, anything), pipe Agentbot events to it through Zapier / n8n / a direct webhook.

Will I lose HubSpot AI features (Breeze) by switching?

Breeze is HubSpot-specific — it operates on HubSpot data. Agentbot's AI is a different system: page-aware, knowledge-base RAG, auto-resolves chats. The product is comparable for the chat use case; Breeze's value for cross-marketing / cross-sales workflows doesn't translate (and isn't what most SMB chat users actually use).

Can I still send chat data into HubSpot?

Yes — via webhooks. Every conversation, message, and ticket event fires a signed webhook; pipe those to a HubSpot endpoint (directly or via Zapier) and contacts get created or updated in HubSpot as before. You keep HubSpot as your CRM; Agentbot just owns the chat surface.

How does Agentbot pricing compare long-term?

Agentbot is free during open beta. Post-beta, the plan is a generous free tier and no per-seat tax. HubSpot's CRM is free but Service Hub Pro is $90/seat/month — if you were paying for Service Hub mostly for the chat surface, Agentbot is meaningfully cheaper.

Is HubSpot still the right choice for HubSpot-native shops?

Yes. If you live in HubSpot — deals, marketing automation, sales sequences — their integrated chat is the lowest-friction path. Agentbot makes sense when chat is the main thing you need, and the CRM bundle is overhead you don't want.
