// live chat for startups

Live chat built
for startups.

80% of chats resolved by AI before you read them — so you can ship instead of triage.

Why generic live chat fails startups

Startups have no support team — they have a founder who also writes code, also closes deals, and also answers chat. Generic live chat assumes a human is sitting in an inbox. The founder is not sitting in an inbox; they are deploying, debugging, or in a customer call. So either the chat goes ignored or it eats the founder's morning.

What Agentbot does differently

AI handles the first conversation, end-to-end

Most inbound questions are repeats: pricing, what does the product do, can it integrate with X. The AI reads the page the visitor is on and your knowledge base, answers from your content, and resolves the conversation. The founder reads the recap, not the back-and-forth.

Web push the moment a real human is needed

When the AI cannot help — bug report, complex deal, irate customer — Agentbot pings the founder via web push. No daemon to babysit, no email digest that arrives 4 hours later. The escalation interrupts only when it matters.

Zero per-seat cost as the team grows

When you hire the second engineer, you add them to the inbox for free. There is no per-seat upcharge that punishes growth — the same Agentbot that worked at 1 person works at 20.

Flows the AI handles out of the box

  • Investor questions ("are you raising? what stage?") — AI captures contact info, files a ticket for the founder
  • Pricing questions — AI answers from your /pricing page directly
  • Demo asks — AI offers a calendar link (Cal.com / Calendly) without a human in the loop
  • Trial signup help — AI walks the visitor through onboarding from your docs
  • Bug reports — AI files a ticket with the transcript, the founder picks it up async

FAQ

Can a single founder run support with Agentbot?

Yes — that's exactly the use case. The AI handles the volume; you handle the escalations. Web push interrupts you when the AI cannot help, so you don't have to monitor a chat inbox while building.

What if we're not technical enough to set up webhooks?

You don't need to. The widget is one <script> tag in your site head and the AI works out of the box with no integrations. Webhooks are there if you want to pipe events into Linear, GitHub, or your CRM — but they are optional.

How does it handle off-hours chat?

The AI is always-on, so there is no 'off-hours' from the visitor's perspective. The Availability setting can show a banner that says 'we typically reply within X hours' for human handoffs, but the AI itself responds immediately at 3am.

What about chats where the visitor is angry or confused?

The AI is tuned to escalate quickly when a conversation goes sideways — frustrated visitor, confusing question, or one the AI cannot confidently answer. It hands off to a human and you get a web push. You can also configure rules to never let the AI handle certain conversation patterns (e.g. anything mentioning 'refund').

Does it cost anything during beta?

No. Open beta is free for everyone — no credit card, no agent cap, every feature unlocked. When paid lands, the planned free tier still covers the volume a typical startup hits.

Can we install it on multiple projects from one account?

Yes — Agentbot is multi-site by default. One account, every project / side-product / domain. Each site has its own widget, AI persona, and knowledge base; they all live in the same dashboard.
