    In the Agentbot dashboard, open Embed and copy the one-line <script> tag.

  2. Step 2

    Edit theme.liquid

    In Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes → Actions → Edit code → open Layout / theme.liquid. Paste the snippet just before the closing </head> tag.

  3. Step 3

    Save and preview

    Save theme.liquid, then preview your store. The widget bubble appears bottom-right on every page within seconds.

FAQ

Does Agentbot have a Shopify App?

Not currently. The theme.liquid install is one line and works on every Shopify plan. We may publish a Shopify App later for one-click install, but the marginal value over pasting a script tag is small. The trade-off is honest: a dedicated app would auto-handle theme updates, but a stable script-tag install handles 99% of cases.

Can the AI access my product catalog or order data?

Not directly — Agentbot's AI answers from your knowledge base (uploaded docs) and your public site content (it can fetch product pages live via web search). For real-time stock or order-status lookups against your Shopify backend, wire it through webhooks: when the AI hands off, fire to Zapier → Shopify Admin API → reply with the status.

Will it work on a Shopify 2.0 (Online Store 2.0) theme?

Yes. The <script> tag in theme.liquid works on all Shopify themes — Dawn, Refresh, Sense, any custom or third-party theme. Online Store 2.0 doesn't change the install pattern.

Does Agentbot do cart abandonment like Tidio or Klaviyo?

Not natively — those are cart-recovery flows that require Shopify event integration and email automation. Agentbot is a chat surface, not an email marketing tool. If cart abandonment is your primary use case, Tidio or Klaviyo are stronger picks; Agentbot complements them as the live chat layer.

Will it survive a Shopify theme update?

If you update your active theme to a new version, the snippet stays. If you SWITCH to a different theme (or publish a different theme), you need to paste the snippet into the new theme's theme.liquid. The snippet is one line — takes 30 seconds.

Can I exclude the widget from checkout?

Shopify's checkout pages (checkout.shopify.com / Shop Pay) don't load theme.liquid scripts anyway, so the widget doesn't appear in checkout by default. If you specifically want to exclude it from cart or order-confirmation pages, use Agentbot's Triggers → Page Match to exclude those URLs.
